Overview

Founded in 1988 by Mr. Vicente Alvair Promicia, Itacitrus is a family business located in the town of Itajobi – 400 km Northeast from the city of São Paulo, the largest Tahiti Acid Lime producing region in Brazil (approximately 80% of the national production). Lime production in Itajobi comprises a large number of small producers, most of them own between 3 to 8 hectares of limes per property.

In the year 2002, aiming at increasing the production volume of Tahiti Acid Limes and providing greater availability of this fruit in the interharvest season period, the company invested in the acquisition of a farm in Northeastern Brazil (2.400 ha), in the town of Inhambupe, State of Bahia, at approximately 150 km from the port of Salvador.

Foreseeing a prospective market for other types of fruit, in 2006 Itacitrus started exports of Formosa Papaya (own production) and Palmer Mango (from producers in the region of Itajobi). Sustaining the same quality offered for the Tahiti Acid Lime, the company exports health and well-being to its clients, increasing the range of exported products and diversifying its market.
